OmniPage is an OCR application from Nuance Communications. it is not possible to change a scanned image once it is in electronic form. OmniPage is intended to convert images like PDF files and scanned paper documents into document file formats that are used by various computer applications including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and HTML files. Omnipage is compatible with various devices such as WIA and TWAIN. Thus it covers virtually all of the multi-function devices and scanner in the market.
OmniPage makes it easy and faster to reprocess existing documents with appropriate formatting. Furthermore, converted documents look just like the original ones with graphics, columns, bullets and tables. Not all Optical Character Recognition software is equal, obviously. Some programs have better capabilities to deal with some document formats then others.
